Special isothermal containers have been developed for the transportation and storage of the new coronavirus vaccine by the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech. This was announced by Pfizer CEO Albert Burla in an interview with The New York Times on Tuesday, November 17.
“These containers are equipped with GPS sensors and thermometers inside so that we know at any time where the object is and what the temperature is inside. If something goes wrong, which we do not expect, this batch of vaccine will not be used,” – Burla explained, answering questions about the need to store and transport the drug at a temperature not lower than minus 75 degrees Celsius.
Pfizer is ready to guarantee the delivery of the drug to the customer in the United States during the day. The company expects to produce up to 50 million doses by the end of this year, half of which is not for the United States.
“We can supply the vaccine by cars, trucks, planes, ships, anything,” the head of the company said.
