The Agrofusion agribusiness holding intends to invest $ 50 million in building a plant for processing tomatoes in the Mykolaiv region. This is stated in a message on the site of the Mykolayiv Regional State Administration.
“The Agrofusion Company begins construction of a new plant for processing tomatoes in Snigirevskyi district, which will be the largest in Europe. The project cost is more than $ 50 million”, – said in a statement referring to the chairman of Mykolayiv Regional Administration Vadym Merikov. According to the report, the new plant will create 900 new jobs.
It is noted, that Agrofusion includes 2 plants for the production of tomato paste with a processing capacity of about 480 thousand tomatoes per season, as well as agricultural farms in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions that handle 4.96 thousand ha of irrigated land, and 2 greenhouse’s facilities.
As previously reported, Agrofusion is vertically integrated agricultural holding with a closed production cycle of growing tomatoes and their further processing into tomato paste.
The Agrofusion Holding was created by the former CEO of the company “Sandora” Sergei Sypko after the selling of the PepsiCo company.
The enterprises of the company are located in the south of Ukraine – in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. These are traditional “tomato” regions. The Agrofusion company handles 20 thousand ha of land, and 6 thousand ha is under irrigation. The company built its own greenhouses with the complexes capacity of 190 million pieces of plants, two plants with a total capacity of 500 thous. tons of tomatoes per season.
The group of companies Agrofusion produces tomato paste under the “Inagro” TM.
The company is a certified supplier for these companies: HJ Heinz, Unilever, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Mars Foods, and others.
