The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has taken custody of the vessel ANKA for further sale. This was announced by ARMA’s press service.
The asset was transferred to ARMA based on a court ruling issued within a criminal case concerning violations of procedures for entering and exiting temporarily occupied territory.
The vessel violated Ukraine’s state border by entering a port in temporarily occupied Crimea — in breach of Ukrainian law and the internationally recognized status of the peninsula, the agency emphasized.
“ARMA maintains a strong and effective cooperation with the SBU’s Main Directorate in Crimea, particularly in the transfer of vessels serving as physical evidence in cases related to the occupied territory regime,” the statement reads.
Specialists have already conducted a technical inspection of the vessel, confirming it is in good condition and ready for further use. ARMA believes this makes it possible to sell the asset with maximum benefit for the state.
“The interregional office is currently collecting all necessary information on the asset to prepare a quality tender proposal,” the agency added.
The cargo vessel ANKA, detained by Ukraine in April 2025 in the Black Sea, is suspected of involvement in the illegal export of grain from temporarily occupied territories. At the time of detention, the vessel was carrying over 4,600 tons of wheat, allegedly harvested in the occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
