The High Court of England and Wales has issued a ruling to freeze the assets of Kostyantyn Zhevago, the former owner of the now-liquidated Finance and Credit Bank, which has been under liquidation since 2015, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) press service reported.
According to the NBU, the asset freeze was imposed as part of proceedings on the NBU’s claim to recognize and enforce in England a Ukrainian court decision obliging Zhevago to repay his debt to the central bank.
Back in 2019, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv ruled that Zhevago was liable for the non-repayment of a debt personally guaranteed by him in relation to stabilization loans provided to Finance and Credit Bank.
