To reduce emissions to 35% of 1990 levels, Ukraine needs more than 100 billion euros in capital investment over 10 years, according to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
“We have been actively involved in shaping the Ukrainian green exchange rate, which we want to synchronize with the European green exchange rate, and we make a lot of efforts to do so. This is a really ambitious goal. To reduce emissions to 35% of the 1990 level, according to the Ministry of Environment, we will need more than 100 billion euros of capital investment over the next 10 years, “he said.
The Prime Minister reminded that Ukraine has a commitment to reduce emissions of pollutants, this applies primarily to heat generation.
“The relevant re-equipment will cost more than 4 billion euros, according to the calculations of the same ministry,” said Shmygal.
He assured that synchronization with the European energy system and development of the gas market is also one of the tasks for the government.
