Russia boosted its oil exports to Georgia to a historic high of nearly $70 million, according to the country’s National Statistics Service.
Media reports note that in March alone, deliveries of “black gold” from Russia rose to a record $69.2 million.
This is the highest figure since records began in 2009. Just a month earlier, Russian oil exports to Georgia stood at only $34.1 million.
At the same time, supplies of Russian oil remain irregular. In 2025, for example, it was delivered to Georgian refineries in only four months, with a similar pattern observed the previous year, the statistics agency said, according to Sputnik Georgia.
In March, Georgian importers also increased imports of petroleum products from Russia by 1.5 times, reaching $55.1 million on a monthly basis.
By the end of the month, Russia became the leading supplier of petroleum products to Georgia, accounting for 42.5% of total imports. Turkey ranked second (13.5%), followed by Bulgaria (11.3%). Belgium (7.5%) and Azerbaijan (5.7%) also made it into the top five suppliers.
