Jim Hackett, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, intends to resign. This is stated in the statement, published on August 4 on the company’s website.
The new head of Ford from October will be Jim Farley, who is now the company’s chief operating officer. As specified in the document, Hackett in the coming months will refer cases Farley. In addition, until March 2021, he will hold the post of special adviser. Later he will leave the company.
Hackett led Ford since May 2017. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hackett Bill Ford expressed his appreciation for “all that he did for the modernization of Ford”. Ford said the company now has “convincing plans to develop electric and unmanned vehicles.”
Following the announcement of a change in Ford’s management, the company’s shares rose about $ 0.17 (2.47%) to $ 6.89 in the US stock market.
Ford was founded in 1903 and the headquartered is in suburban Detroit, Michigan.
Ford is one of the largest automotive companies in the United States.
