Chinese Internet company Alibaba and electronics manufacturer Xiaomi will be included in stock exchange index Hang Seng Index from September 7, said the operator’s Hang Seng Indexes.
Earlier, the operator announced the results of the review of indexes for the quarter ended June 30. Along with Alibaba and Xiaomi, the index will also include WuXi Biologics, which offers solutions for the development and production of biological drugs, the report said.
At the same time, three firms were excluded from the index: Sino Land, Want Want China Holdings and China Shenhua Energy.
Following the results of trading on Friday, the Hang Seng Index fell by 0.19% to 25,183.01 points. At the same time, Alibaba is expected the report on the next week with the results for the first quarter of the 2020-2021 financial year.
