The “Global Kamianka Vine” company ceased the production of wines under the TM “Massandra” according to the request of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Before holding a competitive tender for procurement of rights for using the TM “Massandra” at the annexation period of Crimea, no-one company has any rights for production of wines under this brand.
As a result of measures taken by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, “Global Kamianka Vine” company stopped the production of still wines under the trade mark “Massandra”, that was started in July 2015, – noted in the message.
The Adviser to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food – Alexander Liev, said that the Ministry is doing everything possible for giving the official rights to Ukrainian enterprises for the production of wines under the trade mark “Massandra”.
In this regard, the ministry is working on a competitive basis for the Ukrainian manufacturers who want to produce wines under the relevant trademark.
Besides, the Adviser to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food noted that the legal rights of the trademark can be lost if it is not used for three years.
Assignment of rights to the other companies for using the TM “Massandra” will be carried out with the only purpose – to save the rights of the well-known wine brand in Ukraine.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food expects to start bottling wines under the trade mark “Massandra” in the territory that is controlled by the government of Ukraine in 2016.
In January, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food announced its intention to re-register in Kiev 23 state enterprises that are under the management of the ministry, but stayed in the territory of Crimea, that was annexed by Russia, such as “Massandra”, “Magarach”, “Novyi Svit” and others.
