L’Oreal has created a virtual make-up for video conferences

The French company has developed an augmented reality application for digital makeup. The Signature Faces application allows you to apply filters to your face in real time.

“We believe that everyone is beautiful by themselves, but in a world where the camera is always on, it’s normal to want to “play” with filters. We want to present a completely new experience of modern makeup,” – the company’s official website reports.

You need to download the Snap Camera application to your smartphone to get your makeup done. The L’Oreal website states that it integrates with Zoom, Skype, Twitch, Instagram, Snapchat, Google Duo and Google Hangouts.

“The program can be used by virtually applying to the face of up to ten cosmetics – lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, etc. It is compatible with social networks Snapchat and Instagram, as well as the most popular video conferencing platforms: Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Houseparty and so on.” – it is said in the description of the program.

According to Virtue creative director Pascal Rotheville, the idea was born in response to consumer demand, especially girls from Generation Z, who lack the means to express themselves during video calls.

“We decided to make a digital cosmetic bag that would allow them to create an image on social media that they would never be able to do in real life,” he said.
