Coca-Cola has announced the launch of a new beverage in the United States, sweetened with American cane sugar. The announcement was made in the company’s recent report.
The new product is expected to debut in the fall of 2025. According to Coca-Cola, it will complement its “powerful portfolio” and provide consumers with “more choices for every occasion.”
The initiative partially aligns with a statement from U.S. President Donald Trump, who earlier claimed he had reached an agreement with Coca-Cola to transition American-made beverages to using cane sugar.
For decades, Coca-Cola has used high-fructose corn syrup as its primary sweetener in the U.S. Meanwhile, a more expensive version of the drink made with cane sugar — imported from Mexico — has gained popularity among American consumers.
The company is not expected to switch entirely to cane sugar but rather to introduce a new premium product line. This step will allow Coca-Cola to meet growing demand for “more natural” beverages without sacrificing profitability.
Coca-Cola also reported an increase in net revenue in the second quarter of 2025, reaching $12.5 billion — up 1% compared to the same period last year.
