Dutch-British oil and gas holding company Royal Dutch Shell has transferred a majority stake (51%) of its Malaysian business to local manufacturer – the company Malaysia Hengyuan International Ltd. It is reported by news portal Inventure with reference to the foreign media. According to official information, the transaction value gets at 66.3 million dollars.
As representatives of the European corporation note, the signing of sales agreement about sale of assets of Malaysia Hengyuan International Ltd is not regarded as an attempt to leave the Malaysian market from their part: he is still promising, but at this stage Shell shareholders are forced to take this step for strategic reasons.
Recall that Royal Dutch Shell is one of the five largest oil producers in the world. According to the rating Fortune Global, the company is also one of the 500 most profitable in the world. Last year, the holding company profit amounted to about $ 2 billion.
