The American company Tesla demonstrated on Thursday in Fremont (California) its new electric car Model S Plaid. The presentation, led by Tesla Chairman Elon Musk, was broadcast on the company’s website.
According to the businessman, critics have previously pointed out that the updated version of the Model S car will be “insanely fast”, and expressed doubts about the need to produce such cars. According to Mask, the development of the Model S Plaid was “quite important for the future of sustainable energy.”
Tesla claims that the Model S Plaid is the fastest production car. “The Model S Plaid is a car that is faster than any sports car, faster than Porsche and at the same time safer than Volvo,” says Musk. According to him, the Model S Plaid can accelerate to 96.5 km per hour in less than two seconds. The maximum speed of the electric car exceeds 320 km per hour. The car is able to travel more than 620 km without recharging. The cost of Model S Plaid is about $ 130 thousand.
Musk noted that 25 Model S Plaid cars are already being delivered to customers. It is planned to deliver several hundred more of these cars within a week.
