Toshiba’s net profit for April-September was $ 33 million

The Japanese electronics giant Toshiba Corporation in the first half of the 2020-2021 fiscal year (ended September 30) earned a net profit of 3.493 billion yen ($ 32.95 million) against a loss of 145.146 billion yen ($ 1.3 billion) a year earlier. it is said in the company’s reporting.

The company’s operating profit was 3.114 billion yen ($ 29.4 million), which is 16.7 times lower than a year ago. Revenue fell 19.8 percent to 1.371 trillion yen ($ 12.9 billion). The company does not indicate the earnings per share for the first half of the year.

In the second quarter, Toshiba’s net profit was 14.8 billion yen ($ 140 million) against a loss of 4.9 billion yen ($ 44.9 million) a year earlier. Revenue fell 14 percent to 771.562 billion yen ($ 7.2 billion). The company also does not indicate the earnings per share for the second quarter. Operating profit fell 2.8 times year on year to 15.749 billion yen ($ 148.6 million).

The company notes that compared to last year, forecasts operating profit for the 2020-2021 fiscal year at 220 billion yen ($ 2 billion). The company’s losses in the current fiscal year caused by the coronavirus pandemic amounted to 70.2 billion yen ($ 668 million)
