Ukraine will allocate 2.6 billion hryvnias for the purchase of a coronavirus vaccine. This was stated by Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko at the press conference on Monday, September 14.
“By 2023, we have a real opportunity to ensure health care spending at 5%. There is an increase in 2021 to 4.2% of GDP for health care, compared to 3.4% in this, and we plan to reach 5% in 2023, “said Marchenko.
In total in 2021 increase in expenses for medicine will make 27 billion hryvnias. This mainly concerns salaries from the medical guarantee program, the purchase of equipment for support hospitals, and the development of the emergency of the medical care.
“Purchase of vaccines from COVID – 2.6 billion hryvnias are provided for this program,” the minister added.
At the same time, a total of 19.4 billion hryvnias will be allocated for the fight against COVID-19 in 2021. In addition to vaccines, it is planned to allocate 15.8 billion hryvnias under the Medgarant program. Another 1 billion hryvnias will be allocated for counteracting COVID-19 in schools.
