Last year, Ukraine’s economy shrank by 4%, while the Cabinet of Ministers expected a decline of 4.8%. Data from the State Statistics Service show this.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Ukraine’s GDP decreased by 4.2% in 2020.
The fall in GDP last year was the first in five years.
According to the State Statistics Service, the nominal GDP in 2020 amounted to UAH 4,194.1 billion, and the GDP per capita was UAH 100,469.
GDP dynamics for the year: in the first quarter it fell by 1.2%, in the second quarter – by 11.2%, in the third quarter – by 3.5%, in the fourth quarter – by 0.5%.
Note that in 2021 the Ukrainian economy continued to decline – in January, GDP fell by 2.6-2.8%.
