In 2021, the Ukrainian economy will grow by 4%. This is stated in the updated IMF forecast.
At the same time, next year growth will slow to 3.4%.
Inflation in Ukraine is expected to increase to 7.9% in 2021 after declining to 2.7% in 2020, and to 6.8% in 2022.
The current account surplus of 4.3% of GDP in 2020 in 2021 will be replaced by a deficit of 2.5% of GDP and its increase to 3.6% of GDP in 2022.
The IMF forecasts a decrease in unemployment in Ukraine from 9% last year to 8.6% this year and 8.4% next year.
At the same time, the IMF predicts that in five years Ukraine’s economy will grow by 4% per year with an average annual inflation of 5% and a current account deficit of 3.8% of GDP.
Note that in 2021 the Ukrainian economy began to fall in January by 2.6-2.8%. At the same time, the Ministry of Economy maintains the forecast for the current year of economic growth of 4.6%.
