We just have to work and think about how to make Ukraine a modern European state

29.04.2019

Grigol Katamadze, public figure, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, President of the Association of Taxpayers.

The All-Ukrainian Public Organization «Taxpayers Association of Ukraine» is the largest and most authoritative business association in Ukraine, which includes 6500 small, medium and large enterprises across the country. The main purpose of the Association is to improve the business climate in the country, to develop partnerships between the authorities and business, and to increase the social responsibility of taxpayers.

For 20 years, the Association has established regional offices in all regions of Ukraine with 134 local branches. The TAU has established close cooperation with tax authorities, interacts with legislative and executive bodies, maintains extensive international relations, organizes training, consultations, and exchange of experience. The TAU is a member of the European and World Taxpayers Associations.

In December 2018, at the International Forum LEVEL UP UKRAINE the President of the Association Grigol Katamadze presented the Concept of the Tax Code of Development, agreed with 68 associations of the Ukrainian business community. The Concept was based on the draft of a new liberal Tax Code, developed by the TAU with the help of representatives of Ukrainian business. The main principles of the new TC are the reduction the number of taxes from 13 to 9, the size of the tax rates, the replacement of income tax with capital tax, combining personal income tax and ERUs into one tax and declaring zero declaration without paying a percentage for the declaration.
The Association’s management pursues to help the state adopt the new Tax Code and fundamentally reform the state fiscal service so that one part of it becomes a service department for business interaction, while the other deals with financial and economic security.

«Ukraine does not need to learn from the Georgian, Polish or Singaporean experience, — believes Grigol Katamadze. — We just have to work and think about how to make Ukraine a modern European state comfortable and calm for its citizens».
