A major manufacturer of products, Unilever Company intends to launch a tea factory in the Kiev region in the second half of 2016. The company has already invested in the project € 8.3 million.
“Unilever will launch its own tea factory in Gostomel. Unilever works on the project from the middle of 2015, and at the moment the amount of investments in the tea factory is equal to € 8.3 mln”, – said in a statement of the company.
It is noted that it is the largest investment project of the company since Unilever entering the Ukrainian market.
The launch of the new production is scheduled for the second half of 2016.
“For Unilever, Ukraine is the one of the priority markets in Eastern Europe and we are ready to invest in the development of the business here”, – said the head of the Unilever Ukraine – Vasily Bovdilov.
It is also reported, that a special interdepartmental working group was created under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, allowing British and Dutch investors expect on the implementation of the project without disruption and delay.
As previously reported, the company Unilever Ukraine (Kiev) has decided to start production of mayonnaise, ketchup and sauces under the brand Calve at the facilities of the company Chumak, (Kakhovka, Kherson region).
In January 2015, Unilever began to produce in Ukraine shampoos and conditioners, hair conditioners under its own brand Pure Line due to the contract with Interfil Ltd.
Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of food, funds for home care and personal care products.
The product portfolio of Unilever Ukraine includes brands Calve, Knorr, Besida, Brooke Bond and Lipton, “Black Pearl”, “Clean Line”, “Velvet hands”, “100 recipes for beauty”, Clear, Dove, Timotei, Axe , Rexona, Cif, Domestos Glorix and others.
The first office of Unilever in Ukraine was opened in May 1993.
