On Tuesday, Amazon announced another innovation – Amazon One technology, which will be tested for the first time in two Amazon Go stores in Seattle.
The company has established in their new turnstiles which will be the quicker alternative to make the purchases. The format of the Amazon Go stores is designed so that customers do not spend their time at the checkout, the purchase process takes place through the scan of the Amazon mobile application, cameras and sensors record purchases, the system debits of the required amount from the bank card when the buyer leaves the store.
Amazon says the new Amazon One technology makes the process even easier and faster, providing greater security in the shopping and the contactless payment.
Amazon press release states that the registering with one or two palms through the Amazon One takes less than a minute, to do this, the system will require the buyer to “insert a credit card into the device and to associate this card with the unique signature palm created for you by our computer vision technology in the real time. ”
The company promises that in the future to pay through the Amazon One will need about a second to hold your hand over the device.
Amazon says that all palm scan data is encrypted and stored in a secure “custom cloud,” “the palm image is never stored on the Amazon One.”
Amazon One users will also be able to request the deletion of their biometric data after using it either through the device or over the Internet.
The company’s management also notes that “you do not need the Amazon account to register or to start using the Amazon One – only the mobile phone number and the credit card.”
