In September 2016, the Ukrainian government will open an office, which is financially supported by private equity fund for support investment from abroad. It is about WNISEF (Western NIS Enterprise Fund), which was established in 1994 with a capital of $ 150 million, for the amount, which was paid by the US government.
This kind of office we need to have for confidence that there was an entry point for attracting investment in Ukraine, assured the Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, opening today’s Cabinet meeting.
According to Groisman, to coordinate the work of this office with other structures such as Government, ministries and other authorities will be appointed a government commissioner. The Cabinet of Ministers approved as government commissioner – Oksana Markarov, First Deputy Minister of Finance.
Recall that before she started to work in the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance in 2015, Markarov, for 17 years, she worked in the investment business, including the fund WNISEF.
Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that foreign investors are interested in Ukraine, but it requires certain conditions. According to him, we need a mechanism for coordination with the government.
In short, the main purpose with which government is creating such office (it will be located in the building of the government), it is a real support to any foreign investor.
Attract investment at this stage for Ukraine – it is imperative to have a chance to get out of the current state of a raw type of economy, concluded Vladimir Groisman.
The priorities in this area:
Groisman said that before it was decided to open this office in Kiev, the officials studied the experience of similar offices in many countries of the world: the United States, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Georgia. September 1, 2016 Oksana Markarova will nominate for the post of director of the office and will declare the composition of its team.
If the experience of the work of this office will be successful, such practices can be developed in the regions and government will open similar offices in regional centers.
