Internet service Preply, that was designed for searching of local and online tutors, announced the release to the Brazilian market. For this purpose, the company made a localization to Portuguese, implemented the accepting of payments in reais, and hired a Brazilian student Lucia in Kiev office. Her responsibilities will include support for tutors in the Portuguese language and the study of market in native language.
The company said that they have already received the first payments from Brazil. Currently the database of Preply already includes about 300 teachers from Brazil. Although this is a small figure, the co-founder of the CEO startup, Kirill Bigay hopes to quickly build up a base due to “moderate level of competition in the local market.”
