According to Ukranian Agrarian Business Club (UABC), Ukraine possess the third place in buckwheat production in the world. China and Russia take the first and second place.The buckwheat production in Ukraine has been characterised by sharp fluctuations within 140-180 thousand tonnes. It was caused by the price of the cultivation.
An internal consumption of buckwheat in Ukraine has made 130-140 thousand tonnes. This year the producers have gained 190 thousand tonnes of buckwheat.Ukraine was the nett importer of buckwheat. It has imported 3,6 thousand tonnes of goods in the amount of 1,8 million dollars for 10 months of 2016.
The UABC experts believe: “ The trade area spread could stabilise the situation on the buckwheat market. The export will become the additional factor of competitive price formation level for the producer. The perspective is a European Union countries which import 50 thousand tonnes of buckwheat (30% of which is Ukrainian producer) every year. The European Market traditionally is more bonus than domestic”.
