The criminal case against the owner of VAB Bank is closed. It is reported by news agency Interfax-Ukraine, referring to the statement of the press service of the Ukrainian company Ukrlandfarming, co-owner of which is also above mentioned businessman Oleh Bakhmatiuk. According to the original source, in the course of an investigation initiated by representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine the fact of embezzlement of bank funds by management team members VAB has not been identified. Thus, the prosecutor’s office closed the case due to lack of corpus delicti.
As it is known on 22 February last year, the Guarantee Fund deposits of physical persons has announced its decision to revoke the banking license of VAB Bank, and to eliminate the financial institution.This procedure will continue until March 19, 2018 year. At the same time, the central bank of Ukraine has repeatedly appealed to the court, accusing the shareholder of VAB Bank Oleh Bakhmatiuk of failing to pay the debt on the personal contract for a total of 10.9 billion UAH.
VAB Bank is one of the largest commercial banks in Ukraine. It was founded in 1992. 86.7% stake in financial institutions belongs to Ukrainian businessman Oleh Bakhmatiuk.
