If re-rigid quarantine is introduced, the Ukrainian economy will lose three times less than during the spring lockdown. This was stated on ICTV by the adviser to the head of the President’s Office Tymofiy Milovanov.
According to him, the second lockdown will be easier, because during this time the economy has adapted to the conditions of quarantine.
“The first thing that really interests us are people’s lives. The second – the impact on the economy. Soon we will have a press release of the study of how much it will hit the economy if we impose strict quarantine, how much % of GDP we will additionally lose. I will say that it will be three times less than it was in the spring. Because the models show that the Ukrainian economy has adapted, ” Milovanov said.
He noted, however, that a full lockdown is unlikely to happen again.
“We don’t need to close the whole economy. We need to restrict certain types of business where people can get infected at the same time,” said the adviser to the head of the OP, adding that the restrictions can only affect certain industries.
