Car manufacturer Ford Motor is recalling over 850,000 cars in the US due to a potential malfunction in the low-pressure fuel pump, which could cause the engine to stall. This was reported by Reuters.
According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a faulty fuel pump can reduce the flow of fuel from the tank to the engine, causing it to stall and increasing the risk of an accident.
In total, Ford Motor is recalling 850,318 cars in the US. This recall applies, in particular, to certain models of Lincoln Aviator, F-150 trucks and Mustang cars.
According to NHTSA estimates, 10% of vehicles have this defect. The US agency has received six complaints from consumers about pump malfunctions.
