On September 1, the Diia portal introduced its AI assistant, Diia.AI, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced after a meeting with the Diia team.
“This is one of the first AI assistants in the world that can quickly find the right service, check information in registers, or order an income certificate. We presented new changes that will truly help and be useful to our people,” Zelensky said.
According to him, these include government services, the increase in the number of Ukrainian schools starting the new academic year with the Mriia program, new social and veteran services, an electronic court system, 5G coverage testing, and support for Ukrainian defense tech producers.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that Ukraine is the first country in the world to provide government services through AI.
“Today we launched Diia.AI on the Diia portal. This is the world’s first government AI agent that doesn’t just answer questions but provides services directly in the chat. Soon it will also be available in the mobile app,” Fedorov noted.
According to him, Diia.AI can:
Provide services — for example, an income certificate, which then appears in the user’s account on the portal. Five more services will be announced shortly.
Explain services available in Diia — such as how to register as a sole proprietor or what the “Baby Package” program includes.
Match services to specific situations — for instance, helping apply for compensation through eRestoration if a home has been damaged.
“Currently, Diia.AI is operating in open beta testing. We will continue to train it so it can respond to requests faster and more effectively. Your feedback is crucial — so test it, give likes or dislikes, and leave comments directly in the chat,” the minister added.
He stressed that Ukraine’s goal is to become one of the world’s top three countries in AI development and integration into the public sector by 2030.
