The total market value of crypto assets has exceeded $4 trillion for the first time amid the growth of altcoins and a new impetus from large-scale legislative regulation in the United States. This is reported by Bloomberg.
The options market shows that traders are increasing their bets on further growth in the coming weeks.
‘Bitcoin’s path to $150,000 looks increasingly inevitable,’ said Fadi Aboualfa, head of research at Copper. Bitcoin accounts for about 60% of the total value of the crypto market.
The new record was set after the adoption of the first federal bill on stablecoins, a key achievement during the so-called Crypto Week. The document, supported by Republicans and promoted by Donald Trump, introduces oversight of dollar-linked tokens and opens up new opportunities for institutional investors. It aims to legalise the $265bn market, which, according to Citigroup Inc. analysts, could grow to $3.7 trillion by 2030.
Altcoins – all tokens other than bitcoin – have driven the latest rally. Ether has risen by 22% over the past five days. While bitcoin hit a record high of $123,205 this week. Uniswap gained 24% on Friday, while Solana gained 6.5%.
On Thursday, the House of Representatives also passed a large-scale bill on the structure of the crypto market, which is now awaiting consideration in the Senate.
As you know, the growth of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies was triggered by Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election. The Republican candidate has publicly expressed his support for digital assets.
Against this backdrop, market participants are increasing their bets that Bitcoin will reach $100,000 this year.
It has also become known that the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin has grown by almost 20%. This happened after Trump announced the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency, which he called DOGE. It will be headed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Strive Asset Management co-founder Vivek Ramaswamy.
