\"\"“MTS Ukraine” (Vodafone Ukraine), telecommunication\u00a0 company \u00a0reached an agreement with “Ukrtelecom” about buying mobile operator “TriMob”.<\/em><\/p>\n

As noted, the the transaction amounted to about $ 120 million (3 billion UAH).<\/p>\n

According to \u00a0one source , \u00a0negotiations about the deal \u00a0began \u00a0since the spring of last year, when \u00a0the “MTS Ukraine” has sold its fixed network telecommunications to Vega group.<\/p>\n

It will be recalled that , Vega, as well as “Ukrtelecom”, is owned by the holding company SCM \u00a0of Rinat Akhmetov.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the SCM has got rid of one of its telecommunication assets, by selling its stake in the operator “Astelit” (life :)) to other shareholder, the Turkish operator Turkcell.<\/p>\n

“Astelit” hoped \u00a0that the SCM will sell to them “TriMob”, but according to the company the price that the owner called \u00a0for “TriMob” was too big.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the amount of the transaction with “MTS Ukraine” is much smaller and corresponds to the market value of cellular assets.<\/p>\n

As reported, in August 2014, “MTS-Ukraine” dealt \u00a0with the mobile operator “TriMob” about roaming in the Crimea. However, a month later, “TriMob” stopped working in Sevastopol.<\/p>\n

It will be recalled that \u00a0operator “TriMob” was created by “Ukrtelecom” in 2011 as a division in order to highlight the activities of providing mobile services into a separate business.<\/p>\n

According to market participants, now “TriMob” has approximately 200 thousand subscribers. Therefore, the amount of the transaction \u00a0corresponds the market realities.<\/p>\n

According to the president of the SV Consulting company, Oleg Stefanyuk, \u00a0today the main value of “TriMob” \u00a0is its frequency resource, which will allow “Vodafone Ukraine” to expand network capacity and to beat the competition on service quality. In the future, a part of the spectrum can be used for 4G.<\/p>\n

The launch of the fourth generation at the same frequencies, which operates 3G, will be possible if the National Commission on Regulation of Communications and Informatization introduces the principle of technological neutrality. As reported on \u00a0November 11, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a plan for the implementation of 4G. According to the document, requirements for the use of 4G is scheduled for the second half of 2017.<\/em><\/p>\n
