In the first half of the year, total trade reached $8.55 billion, up $847 million, or 11%, compared with the same period last year. The figures were reported by the National Scientific Center \u201cInstitute of Agrarian Economics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"676\">The institute noted that the growth was driven primarily by higher Ukrainian exports. \u201cThe increase in exports (+$624 million) exceeded the rise in imports (+$221 million),\u201d the institute explained. As a result, Ukraine\u2019s positive agricultural trade balance increased to $3.47 billion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"886\">Ukrainian agricultural producers traded most actively with Poland, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and France. These six countries account for around 70% of Ukraine\u2019s total agri-food trade with the EU.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"1078\">At the same time, some duty-free quotas are already being actively filled. As of early July, Ukraine had fully used its annual quota for wheat. High utilization rates were also recorded for:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1080\" data-end=\"1158\">\n<li data-section-id=\"11vo53m\" data-start=\"1080\" data-end=\"1100\">apple juice \u2014 91%;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1usl8ys\" data-start=\"1101\" data-end=\"1122\">poultry meat \u2014 75%;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1kcmi1m\" data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1158\">eggs and egg products \u2014 75% each.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1246\">The quota for ethanol was 64% utilized, honey \u2014 61%, while sugar and sweet corn \u2014 59%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1248\" data-end=\"1426\">The new terms of trade in food products between Ukraine and the EU have been in effect since the end of 2025.
