Russia\u2019s Investigative Committee said he had transferred more than $700 to support the Ukrainian military.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"562\" data-end=\"850\">Russian investigators contacted Binance requesting the client\u2019s transaction history. In response, the exchange provided information that included details of the transfers, the user\u2019s personal information, a copy of his Russian passport, and documents confirming his residence in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"999\">The data obtained was used as evidence in the criminal case against Belenky. He is currently being held in custody in Russia and is awaiting trial.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1278\">Binance told Reuters that it does not control how information is used by government authorities. The company emphasized that, like other financial institutions, it cooperates with law enforcement agencies in response to lawful requests while complying with privacy regulations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1280\" data-end=\"1640\">At the same time, cryptocurrency regulation experts questioned the legality of providing such data.
