This is the latest indication of how the artificial intelligence boom is driving demand for shares of memory manufacturers and other semiconductor companies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"588\">On Thursday, shares of CXMT, which only debuted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange last month, fell 1.2%, bringing the company\u2019s market capitalization to approximately $524 billion. Meanwhile, Tencent\u2019s valuation declined to $510 billion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"590\" data-end=\"960\">CXMT became the largest company among those traded on China\u2019s domestic stock market almost immediately after its stock market debut. Following its IPO, the memory-chip maker\u2019s shares surged 467%, and the company continued to strengthen its position amid strong investor interest in the artificial intelligence sector. After the initial jump, the stock gained another 8%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1272\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Meanwhile, Tencent has faced stronger pressure in the stock market this year. Its shares have fallen more than 26%, despite the company continuing to invest heavily in artificial intelligence.
