CNN reports this.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"218\" data-end=\"361\">The FAA said cracks had been detected in a structural reinforcement component of one of the service doors on some older Boeing aircraft models.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"366\" data-end=\"487\">The regulator\u2019s requirement applies to 471 aircraft in the United States, including the 737-8, 737-9 and 737-8200 models.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"772\">The new issue was identified less than a month after the FAA restored Boeing\u2019s authority to conduct final safety inspections of new 737 aircraft itself before they enter service. The agency revoked that authority in 2019 following two crashes involving 737 MAX passenger aircraft.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"1006\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Boeing said that conducting the inspections would help identify and repair potential cracks before they reach a critical size.
