{"id":152028,"date":"2026-08-06T15:00:57","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T12:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=152028"},"modified":"2026-08-03T22:17:46","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T19:17:46","slug":"yedynyj-npz-gruziyi-zaminyt-rosijsku-naftu-kazahstanskoyu","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/yedynyj-npz-gruziyi-zaminyt-rosijsku-naftu-kazahstanskoyu\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia\u2019s Only Oil Refinery to Replace Russian Oil with Kazakhstani Oil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Georgia\u2019s only oil refinery, located in the port of Kulevi\u2014the Kulevi Oil Refinery\u2014will stop purchasing Russian oil in August\u2013September 2026 and switch to crude from Kazakhstan and Libya, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>The European Union has given the company until January 25, 2027, to phase out Russian oil.<\/p>\n<p>According to Black Sea Petroleum (BSP), the company that owns the refinery, processing of Kazakhstani crude began in early July. The refinery plans to start processing Libyan crude as early as this month. The first shipment of oil from Libya is expected to arrive in Kulevi between August 20 and 30.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement to supply Libyan oil was signed on July 3, 2026. The contract will remain in effect until the end of 2027, with the option to extend it.<\/p>\n<p>Russia first supplied oil to the Kulevi refinery in October 2025, following the launch of the facility, which has a capacity of 1.2 million metric tons per year.<\/p>\n<p>The plant became Georgia\u2019s first full-cycle oil refinery.<\/p>\n<p>By 2028, BSP plans to increase its capacity to 4 million metric tons per year.
