This was reported by Reuters, citing the Office of the Australian eSafety Commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>If the allegations are substantiated, the platform could face a fine of up to 54.6 million Australian dollars \u2013 approximately 38 million US dollars.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Office of the Australian eSafety Commissioner, Telegram failed to remove videos of executions carried out by terrorists, as well as footage of mass shootings. These include material relating to the attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand, and Buffalo, USA.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator stated that between July and October 2025, Australian users reported 12 posts containing terrorist content to Telegram. Three of these contained well-known material produced by terrorist groups.<\/p>\n<p>The court filing states that the platform failed to remove 10 of these posts and did not take action against the accounts that shared them.<\/p>\n<p>Telegram denies the allegations and has stated that it will contest the case in court.
