The Council of the EU has approved amendments to the Plan for Ukraine to secure over \u20ac8 billion in additional funding under the Ukraine Facility in 2026. This was announced by the Council of the EU\u2019s press service.<\/p>\n
The additional funds were agreed by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU in February this year. The amendments to the Plan for Ukraine set out new stages of reform, particularly in the areas of the rule of law and the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n
The Plan for Ukraine is a roadmap for reforms, the implementation of which is a condition for receiving further disbursements under the Ukraine Facility programme.<\/p>\n
The Ukraine Facility programme, which came into force on 1 March 2024, provides for over \u20ac50 billion in stable funding in the form of grants and loans to support Ukraine\u2019s recovery, reconstruction and modernisation between 2024 and 2027.<\/p>\n
Since the mechanism was launched, \u20ac6 billion has already been channelled to Ukraine in the form of bridge financing, \u20ac1.89 billion in pre-financing, as well as seven tranches totalling approximately \u20ac21.6 billion.<\/p>\n
