In addition, both companies reported negative free cash flow for the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"1013\">Alphabet has raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast, now expecting to invest between $195 billion and $205 billion, up from its previous guidance of $180 billion to $190 billion. The company also warned that spending on AI infrastructure will continue to increase in 2027.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1015\" data-end=\"1259\">Tesla, meanwhile, reported that its second-quarter capital expenditures surged 142% year-over-year to $5.79 billion. The electric vehicle manufacturer expects to spend more than $25 billion on capital investments over the full year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1584\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Executives at both companies sought to reassure investors, emphasizing that today&#8217;s elevated spending is intended to drive significant long-term business growth.
