The feature is designed to identify cases in which teenagers discuss suicide or self-harm with artificial intelligence, ABC News reports.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"373\" data-end=\"629\">The new feature, called Parent Notifications, will initially be available to users of Instagram&#8217;s parental supervision tools in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. Meta plans to roll it out globally by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"631\" data-end=\"895\">When a notification is sent, parents will receive not only an alert about a potentially concerning conversation but also guidance from mental health professionals to help them approach and discuss the situation with their child in a supportive and appropriate way.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"1235\">Meta said the system for detecting high-risk conversations was developed in collaboration with parents and mental health experts. The AI will analyze conversations and identify interactions that may require attention.
