In a statement to CarBuzz, the automaker said that sales of the Prologue will end later this year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"338\" data-end=\"610\">The Honda Prologue was developed in partnership with General Motors and is built on GM&#8217;s Ultium platform. The model is closely related to the Chevrolet Blazer EV, while the premium Acura ZDX shares the same technical architecture as the Cadillac Lyriq.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"612\" data-end=\"1010\">Although the Prologue proved significantly more successful than the Acura ZDX, which was discontinued in 2025, demand for Honda&#8217;s electric crossover has also declined sharply. Last year, U.S. sales of the Prologue increased by 19.1%, reaching 39,194 units. Much of that growth was driven by buyers rushing to take advantage of the federal tax credit for electric vehicles before it expired.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1177\">After the incentive program ended, the market changed dramatically. In December alone, sales of the Prologue plunged 88.6%, falling to just 932 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1434\">The downward trend continued in 2026. During the first half of the year, Honda dealers sold only 8,407 Prologue crossovers, a 48.5% decline compared with the same period last year. On average, the company sold around 1,400 units per month.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1776\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">As a result of the sharp decline in demand, the Prologue became Honda&#8217;s second least popular model in the U.S. market, ahead of only the newly introduced Prelude.
