Access was restored the following day after Telegram removed its association with the VPN service First VPN Service (1VPNS), according to the publication Mezha.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"638\">According to the operator of the .ME domain zone, the disruption was caused by sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The sanctions targeted the VPN service 1VPNS, and among the associated addresses listed was the Telegram channel t.me\/FirstVPNService.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"849\">The U.S. Treasury said the service had been used by cybercriminals and ransomware operators. The sanctions also targeted Dmytro Rashevskyi, a Ukrainian citizen identified as the administrator of 1VPNS.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"1087\">After Telegram contacted the domain operator, all links connecting the platform to the sanctioned service were removed.
