Kia has reported record-breaking sales for June 2026, delivering 70,507 vehicles during the month\u2014an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year. According to Motor1, this marks the strongest June sales performance in the brand’s history.<\/p>\n
The biggest contribution to the growth came from hybrid versions of Kia’s popular SUVs and minivan. Sales of the Kia Sportage Hybrid surged 165%, while the Sorento Hybrid and Carnival Hybrid posted increases of 114% and 56%, respectively.<\/p>\n
Conventional gasoline-powered models also delivered strong results. Sales of the Kia Telluride rose 24%, while the compact Seltos crossover recorded an impressive 56% increase.<\/p>\n
Not all models ended the month on a positive note. Sales of the Kia EV6 declined from 680 to 584 units, while the K4 sedan also lost ground compared to June last year. Meanwhile, the three-row EV9 electric SUV continued to gain momentum, with 1,299 units sold in June, up from 913 a year earlier.<\/p>\n
During the first six months of 2026, Kia sold 430,727 vehicles, representing a 3.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Demand for electrified models grew particularly rapidly, with hybrid vehicle sales soaring 115% and overall electrified vehicle sales rising 68%.<\/p>\n
Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, attributed the brand’s success to its diverse powertrain lineup. According to him, the company has responded quickly to changing market conditions by offering customers a balanced portfolio of gasoline-powered, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles.<\/p>\n
Despite the decline in EV6 sales, Kia’s overall electric vehicle business continues to show positive momentum. During the first half of 2026, the company sold 11,078 electric vehicles, slightly exceeding the 10,813 units delivered during the same period last year.
