Tencent Holdings is testing a new mobile application designed to help foreign visitors make payments and access everyday services in China, according to Bloomberg, citing Jiemian News.<\/p>\n
The app, called TenPayGo, is being developed as an all-in-one digital services platform that combines mobile payments with travel-related features. According to its description on the App Store, the app supports travel, dining, and shopping services, allowing international visitors to pay for goods and services electronically without relying on cash.<\/p>\n
The service enables users to make payments at tens of millions of merchants across China that accept Weixin Pay, Tencent\u2019s digital payment platform, the report said.<\/p>\n
TenPayGo is currently undergoing limited internal testing and has not yet been released to the general public.<\/p>\n
The trial comes as international travel to China continues to recover following the expansion of the country\u2019s visa-free entry policy and the introduction of other measures aimed at making travel easier for foreign visitors.<\/p>\n
According to China\u2019s National Immigration Administration, the country recorded nearly 7 billion cross-border trips in 2025. Foreign nationals accounted for more than 82 million entries and exits, an increase of 26.4% compared with the previous year.<\/p>\n
Over the past year, Chinese authorities have introduced a number of measures to facilitate travel in order to promote tourism, business travel, and international exchanges.<\/p>\n
Improving access to digital payment services has become a priority, as many foreign visitors have faced difficulties using China\u2019s predominantly cashless payment ecosystem.<\/p>\n
