The Cabinet of Ministers is launching a new program to support the purchase of Ukrainian-made fertilizers and increasing compensation for irrigation and land reclamation projects. This was announced on June 19 by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.<\/p>\n
According to her, farmers will be eligible to receive up to UAH 1,000 per hectare in non-repayable assistance for the purchase of complex mineral fertilizers produced in Ukraine, based on a maximum of 7 tonnes per 100 hectares of agricultural land.<\/p>\n
Applications will be submitted through the State Agrarian Register. The initiative is expected to reduce costs for farmers while supporting domestic fertilizer manufacturers.<\/p>\n
The government is also expanding state support for land reclamation and irrigation projects. The maximum compensation available to farmers and water user organizations has been increased to more than UAH 30,000 per hectare across Ukraine and to more than UAH 48,000 per hectare in frontline regions.<\/p>\n
The program will enable farmers to restore and modernize irrigation systems more quickly and expand irrigated areas where water management is most urgently needed. Beginning in 2027, this support will be indexed annually.<\/p>\n
The measures are part of the government’s broader land reclamation reform. Modernization of irrigation systems has already begun in the Odesa region. In addition, state support for land reclamation projects in frontline areas has been increased to 80% of project costs.<\/p>\n
“The government consistently supports Ukrainian farmers: we are implementing a humanitarian demining program for agricultural land, compensating the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery, supporting the construction and reconstruction of farms, and assisting producers operating in high-risk farming areas,” Svyrydenko said.<\/p>\n
She added that this week the first five agricultural producers from frontline regions received an increased reimbursement covering 40% of the cost of Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery.<\/p>\n
Since the beginning of the year, small farmers have submitted applications totaling UAH 1.1 billion in assistance under European support programs. The funds are expected to be disbursed within the next month.<\/p>\n
