Individuals with ultra-high net worth—those with fortunes of $30 million or more—saw the fastest growth in assets among all wealth segments, with their numbers reaching a record 250,000 people.

According to the report, 2026 could become a major catalyst for accelerating global wealth growth. The anticipated initial public offering of SpaceX is expected to create a new wave of millionaires and billionaires and could almost certainly make Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire.

Capgemini’s report shows that the United States created the largest number of new millionaires in 2025, with their population increasing by 736,000 to a total of 8.7 million. The wealth of high-net-worth individuals in the country grew by 10% year-over-year.

The Asia-Pacific region recorded the strongest regional growth in wealth creation. Wealth in the region increased by 10.5%, outpacing North America as surging demand for semiconductors boosted Asian markets. Japan and China led the growth, creating 436,000 and 154,000 new millionaires, respectively.

This contrasts with the Middle East, where the number of wealthy individuals declined by 1.4%, partly due to lower oil prices and regional conflicts. The survey data were collected before the outbreak of the U.S. and Israeli war with Iran, which later pushed oil prices higher and negatively affected the region.

In Europe, the number of wealthy individuals rose by 6.5% last year, reversing the previous downward trend. This growth was attributed to lower inflation and stabilizing stock markets. Luxembourg recorded particularly strong growth, with the number of wealthy individuals increasing by 13.5%.

As wealth expanded, income inequality also increased, further deepening the so-called K-shaped economy. According to the U.S. Federal Reserve, during the fourth quarter of 2025, the wealthiest 1% of U.S. households owned nearly 32% of the nation’s total wealth. This represents the highest share since the Federal Reserve began collecting such data in 1989.

[9
["post-151710","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","newscat-novosti
["GET
