Ukraine launched a state support program for distributed generation projects on June 1. Businesses will be able to obtain loans for the construction of new power generation facilities at an annual interest rate of 10%, thanks to government compensation of part of the interest costs. This was announced by Ukraine\u2019s Prime Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko.<\/p>\n
According to her, the program is aimed at large and medium-sized businesses. Support will cover projects involving the construction of gas engine and gas turbine plants, cogeneration units, biomass and biogas facilities, energy storage systems, and other infrastructure that will improve the reliability of electricity supply for businesses and communities amid Russia\u2019s energy attacks.<\/p>\n
Financing will range from \u20ac1 million to \u20ac25 million in hryvnia equivalent. Loans can be issued for up to five years, and borrowers will be eligible for a payment deferral period of up to 12 months during construction and commissioning.<\/p>\n
Priority will be given to projects implemented in energy-deficit regions, particularly frontline areas.<\/p>\n
Applications for participation in the program can currently be submitted through 14 partner banks, with the number expected to increase. Project selection and support will be managed by the National Development Institution.<\/p>\n
