The program previously financed the development of border regions and was suspended following Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Finnish authorities stated that the seizure is a precautionary measure designed to prevent the disposal of the assets until final decisions are made regarding their transfer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">According to the Enforcement Authority, Finland has seized more than \u20ac40 million in Russian assets since 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Last week, the Helsinki District Court ruled to enforce a multibillion-euro compensation award that the Arbitration Tribunal of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague ordered Russia to pay Ukraine in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In April of that year, the tribunal ordered Moscow to pay \u20ac4.3 billion in compensation for the unlawful expropriation of Naftogaz assets in occupied Crimea in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>If the ruling ultimately enters into force, Russian state assets located in Finland could be transferred to Naftogaz as compensation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":151696,"menu_order":0,"template":"","newscat":[9],"newstag":[],"issues":[],"class_list":["post-151695","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","newscat-novosti"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/151695","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/151696"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=151695"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"newscat","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/newscat?post=151695"},{"taxonomy":"newstag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/newstag?post=151695"},{"taxonomy":"issues","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/issues?post=151695"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
