Ferrari\u2019s first production electric vehicle sparked mixed reactions not only among fans of the brand but also among investors, CNBC reports. Following the official presentation of the new Ferrari Luce, the company\u2019s shares fell noticeably on stock exchanges in the United States and Italy.<\/p>\n
During morning trading in the U.S., Ferrari shares lost 4.6% of their value, while since the beginning of the year the stock has declined by more than 30%. On the Milan Stock Exchange, the company\u2019s shares temporarily dropped by more than 8%.<\/p>\n
The Ferrari Luce has become one of the most radical cars in the brand\u2019s history. The exterior and interior were designed by LoveFrom, the studio founded by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive. According to analysts, the vehicle\u2019s appearance and overall concept became the main reason for the market\u2019s negative reaction.<\/p>\n
In addition, investors are concerned about the high cost of developing electric models and Ferrari\u2019s substantial spending on research and new technologies. At the same time, many fans are disappointed by the company\u2019s transition to electric vehicles, viewing it as a departure from the traditional supercar philosophy of the brand.<\/p>\n
Despite the criticism, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna described the launch of the Luce as \u201cthe beginning of a new chapter\u201d in the history of the Italian automaker.
