Compared to March, output declined by 26.3%. These figures were published by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">World Steel Association<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"355\" data-end=\"432\">Ukraine ranked 25th among 69 countries in the global steel producers ranking.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"706\">Global steel production in April fell by 1.9% year-on-year to 153.449 million tons. At the same time, steel output increased in half of the top ten producing countries, with the exceptions of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">China<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Russia<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"1515\">China remained the world\u2019s largest steel producer, manufacturing 83.63 million tons of steel, down 2.8% compared to April 2025. <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">India<\/span><\/span> increased production by 3.9% to 13.829 million tons, while the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">United States<\/span><\/span> raised output by 9.4% to 7.16 million tons. <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Japan<\/span><\/span> produced 6.62 million tons of steel (+0.3%), and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">South Korea<\/span><\/span> produced 5.245 million tons (+4.8%). <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Turkey<\/span><\/span> increased production by 9.4% to 3.291 million tons, while <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Germany<\/span><\/span> raised output by 9.5% to 3.233 million tons. <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Brazil<\/span><\/span> produced 2.72 million tons (+2.8%), and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Vietnam<\/span><\/span> produced 2.13 million tons (+4%).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1590\">Meanwhile, Russia reduced steel production by 12.4% to 5.02 million tons.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1750\">The sharpest decline among all countries was recorded in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Iran<\/span><\/span>, where steel production plunged by 45.7% to 1.8 million tons.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1752\" data-end=\"1979\">During January\u2013April, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises reduced steel production by 7.4% to 2.246 million tons, compared to 2.425 million tons during the same period last year. Ukraine ranked 24th globally during that period.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1981\" data-end=\"2086\">Overall, global steel production in the first four months of 2026 declined by 2% to 613.323 million tons.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2230\">In 2025, Ukraine produced 7.409 million tons of steel, 2.2% less than in 2024. The country ranked 21st among global steel producers that year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2817\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Last year, the metallurgical sector generated 15.2% of Ukraine\u2019s export revenues ($6.4 billion). The key export products remained iron ore ($2.8 billion) and steel ($2.4 billion). The mining and metals sector also accounted for nearly 20% of total capital investment in Ukrainian industry in 2024. Major metallurgical companies \u2014 <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Metinvest<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Interpipe<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">DCH Steel<\/span><\/span>, and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Ferrexpo<\/span><\/span> \u2014 collectively paid nearly $1 billion in taxes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":151646,"menu_order":0,"template":"","newscat":[9],"newstag":[],"issues":[],"class_list":["post-151645","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","newscat-novosti"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/151645","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/151646"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=151645"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"newscat","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/newscat?post=151645"},{"taxonomy":"newstag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/newstag?post=151645"},{"taxonomy":"issues","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/issues?post=151645"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
