According to Reuters, countries within the European Economic Area and Switzerland have already attracted nearly €200 billion for the development of the EV ecosystem.

According to a study by the analytical group New Automotive, around €109 billion has been invested in battery production and supply chains, while another €60 billion has gone into electric vehicle manufacturing. Separately, between €23 billion and €46 billion has been invested in charging infrastructure, with more than one million public charging stations already installed.

Analysts note that Europe is trying to reduce its dependence on China, which, according to the International Energy Agency, accounted for more than 80% of global battery production in 2025.

Germany remains the largest hub of the electric vehicle industry in Europe, accounting for nearly a quarter of all investments in the sector. Both domestic automakers and international battery manufacturers are actively expanding production there.

E-Mobility Europe estimates that completed projects have already created more than 150,000 jobs, and if all announced initiatives are implemented, this figure could increase by another 300,000.

However, experts warn that without government support, Europe will struggle to compete in the global market. Key challenges include high energy prices, the need for subsidies, and the protection of domestic production. Despite this, investments in the sector continue to flow in. Analysts believe this is being driven by rising oil prices and the growing availability of affordable electric vehicle models.

[9
["post-151594","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","newscat-novosti
["GET
