{"id":151573,"date":"2026-05-08T12:00:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T09:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=151573"},"modified":"2026-05-06T00:10:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T21:10:26","slug":"norvegiya-vidnovlyuye-stari-gazovi-rodovyshha","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/norvegiya-vidnovlyuye-stari-gazovi-rodovyshha\/","title":{"rendered":"Norway reopens old gas fields"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"35\" data-end=\"246\">The Norwegian government has decided to resume production at three previously closed gas fields in the North Sea and to expand licensed areas for oil and gas exploration, including zones closer to the coastline.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"248\" data-end=\"451\">Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re specified that the government approved a plan to restart production at the Albuskjell, Vest Ekofisk, and Tommeliten Gamma gas fields in the southern part of the North Sea.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"585\">The fields, which were shut down in 1998, are set to be brought back into operation with total investments of around NOK 19 billion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"901\">They are expected to deliver 90\u2013120 million barrels of oil equivalent, mostly gas, as well as condensate. Production is scheduled to begin by the end of 2028, with potential operations continuing until 2048. Gas supplies are planned to be transported via pipelines to Germany, and condensate to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"903\" data-end=\"1209\">Alongside restarting old fields, the government has put 70 new offshore blocks up for tender for geological exploration. Of these, 38 are located in the Barents Sea, 10 in the Norwegian Sea, and 22 in the North Sea. Notably, some of the exploration areas are situated unusually close to Norway\u2019s coastline.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1472\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The government says the decision is aimed at ensuring Europe\u2019s energy stability amid geopolitical uncertainty.
